This drive starts out foggy, as we head through the Appalachian Mountains in western North Carolina. We'll begin on Interstate 40 and exit at Clyde onto US 74 and US 23, passing through Waynesville and Sylva on the way to Dillsboro.
I made this trip in August 2024, shortly before the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene in the area.
