So, disclaimer: Caitlin is not incredible. She functions very well in niche structures (like Rosanta) but if you want a quality pull she is a safe skip.
With that out of the way, Caitlin is very good on high DPS archetypes. In the coming days I'm going to argue that, while Caitlin is a solid tank, she is perfectly capable of enabling hyper offense. Her TM grants +2 Atk +1 Spe +1 Acc. With TM Pep Rally she is effectively a physical version of Roxanne with access to a 6*EX support buff. 6*EX strikers are more efficient than this kind of lineup, but the point is that she can enable budgety strikers this way.
If you pair her with physical strikers who buff Crit really fast then you can be looking to start your offense as early as Turn 2. Caitlin just creates a lot of gauge and you can spam moves constantly with her.
Playing Caitlin this way has one big set-back. Ideally you want her to maximize Atk and Spe for the party, but that means she has to reset for TM MPR2 which drives me absolutely insane. The chances here are about the same as proccing Potion with Skyla. If you really want to squeeze all the damage she can generate then it's something you'll have to deal with.
[0:00] - Had 4 dead multis beforehand
[1:11] - Undella besties ❤️
This is a lineup I typically showcase with Spring May, but the DPS here is far better despite the loss in Hoenn Pride. Unlike Spring May, Caitlin can buff Atk while buffing Spe, so Cynthia and Maxie's offense starts much sooner. Since Caitlin also buffs Acc Maxie can skip his TM. 2/5 Maxie has Dire Hit+ Critical Eye 1 so he can maximize his Crit in one turn and spam Precipice Blades immediately.
[3:07] - Tfw Grimsley left his party costume at home
Grimsley holds back the party a fair bit, but I was moreso wanting to show how well Fall Caitlin and Fall Hilbert work together. Their Theme Skills can benefit a lot of Dark-type Strikers. Sidney would be a much better third here. He can support Caitlin with Potion too, but I haven't pulled him yet.
[5:43] - Bea and Bruno hunt for sweets
In this example Caitlin is supporting an Inertia striker. My Bea isn't at 6*EX potential so I couldn't display the AoE nuke, but Caitlin's 6*EX support buff came in handy all the same. Bea enters the field with +3 Crit and Bruno's Cross Chop has +Crit, so he maximizes Crit after one use of Dire Hit+. Bea and Bruno also activate a lot of Theme Skills together for a chonky Atk boost. Bruno lags behind Bea, but his contributions were appreciable all the same.
