Lazeez Tandoori – Arabian Darbar Style

Ingredients:
For Marination (Step 1):
Tandoori Chicken Legs – 12 pcs (make deep slits)
Salt – to taste
Lime Juice – 2 big limes or 3 small
Ginger-Garlic Paste – 3 tbsp
Thecha or Green Chilli Paste – 2 tsp
Tandoori Masala – 3 tbsp
Mustard Sauce – 2 tsp
Tandoori Food Colour – 1 tsp (optional)
For Marination (Step 2):
Curd – 100 gms
Garlic Chilli Sauce – 1 tbsp
Hot Sauce – 1 tbsp
Barbeque Sauce – 1 tbsp
Mustard Oil – 2 tbsp
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 2 tbsp
Marination & Cooking:
1. First Layer of Marination:
Mix salt, lime juice, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli paste, tandoori masala, mustard sauce, and tandoori colour.
Apply this mix generously to the chicken, rubbing well into the slits.
2. Second Layer of Marination:
Combine curd, sauces, mustard oil, and Kashmiri red chilli powder.
Apply this over the chicken. Massage well.
3. Marinate overnight for best results or at least 6–7 hours.
4. To Bake:
Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease the baking tray with butter.
Bake chicken for 30 minutes, flipping halfway if needed.
(Alternative: Cook on a fry pan on gas. Cover and cook until tender.)
5. Grill or Char:
Once cooked, give a charred finish using a grill or direct flame.
For Creamy Tandoori Sauce:
(Use about ½ cup leftover marination from chicken)
Birista (fried onions) – 1 tbsp
Almond powder or Cashew powder – 1 tbsp
Mayonnaise or Curd – 3 tbsp
Cheese spread/sauce or 1 cheese cube – 3 tbsp
Fresh Cream or Homemade Malai – 1 cup
Tandoori Food Colour – ½ tsp (optional)
Garlic Chilli Sauce – 1 tbsp
Hot Sauce – 1 tbsp
Method:
Blend everything together until smooth.
Apply this over the grilled chicken pieces.
Final Touch (Optional but Recommended):
Sprinkle chopped green chillies and Kotmeer on top
Reheat chicken with sauce in oven for 10 minutes
Serve hot and spicy! 🌶🔥
Serving Tip:
Serve with rumali roti, naan, or enjoy as a sizzling starter with mint chutney.
