Welcome to Week 6 of my Comrades Marathon training journey!
In this video we head out to Valhalla Parkrun, aiming for a personal best on a tough, uneven course — and things didn’t go exactly as planned… or did they? 👟🔥
This week marks my highest mileage week so far in the Comrades build-up, followed by a planned deload before the Balwin Pretoria Marathon. The goal at Valhalla Parkrun was simple: beat my previous PB of 28:17 — despite a late watch start and busy paths.
You’ll also see:
A fast-paced Valhalla Parkrun with plenty of runners
Honest race-day commentary and pacing struggles
A 36km long run the following day (yes, with run-walk shuffling 😅)
Fatigue management, heart rate insights, and fueling strategy
