Take A Minute …and transport yourself to another place. In this one minute 360° video you are in the air, gliding past Scrabo Tower, one of Northern Ireland's best known landmarks.
It rises 135ft (41m) from the summit of Scrabo Hill, itself over 500 feet above sea and the views from the top are spectacular. Below you is the town of Newtownards and stretching into the distance behind you is Strangford Lough, a large sea lough that has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The tower was built in 1857 as a memorial to Charles Stewart/Vane, 3rd Marquess of Londonderry, a local landowner and aristocrat, and was originally known as the Londonderry Monument. Its architectural style is Scottish Baronial Revival.
