Welcome to "Conversations from the Yellow Chair." In Part 2 of this vlog, the discussion centres on the role of spirituality in therapy, featuring host Andrea Bryk (Owner-Director, Waves of Harmony) and Mick George (Co-Owner and Director, Keystone Australia; Moral Injury AU).
This segment provides an in-depth exploration of worldview within therapeutic practice, addressing its relevance in clinical contexts, strategies for guiding client conversations about worldview, and how engaging with these perspectives can facilitate notable therapeutic progress.
Mick enhances the dialogue with diagrams and practical examples that clarify his methods and the foundational framework employed. The insights presented derive from his professional experiences and collaborative work with other healthcare practitioners supporting individuals diagnosed with PTSD, addiction issues, and depression. His contributions offer clinicians alternative viewpoints and considerations for therapeutic engagement in this field.
The purpose of these conversations is to generate open and constructive discussion about holistic therapy with the wider community. We speak openly about topics relevant at the time of recording. We look forward to your support by engaging in comments and sharing! Enjoy~

Fact check note.
I was interested in substantiating the low success rate of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). In a limited online search I found a lot of research from different perspectives investigating the outcomes of using CBT to treat diagnoses such as PTSD, OCD, depression, addiction, anxiety, etc. The list is exhaustive. Recent meta-analyses reveal CBT is at least as beneficial as pharmaceutical treatment in short term and has a more lasting effect if continued in the long term (+2years) when used to address PTSD. Compared to other therapies, it is found to be a safe and a somewhat significantly effective method for treating some diagnoses. I feel that more specific information and research is needed to make claims about the efficacy of CBT.
