There’s something about He Man that strikes the right chords. It’s campy, it's fun, and even though it’s for kids, I gravitate towards it. (I am an adult. Trust me. When things get dark and gritty in the comics world, you get this feeling of redemption that it was always meant for adults. Perhaps that is the reason why I love the DC Universe version of He Man. If you take a cursory look at the history of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, you will know that they are no strangers to the comic medium. We’ve seen them in various iterations, with Marvel Comics, MV Creations, Dark Horse, and even Image Comics having a go at trying to bring the magic of Eternia to mortal pages. But I think many will agree with me that nothing holds water to what DC did with He-Man. The mature world-building, the brutal stakes, and the anxious plot pace completely redefined He-Man's mythos.
