Before we left for Colorado, we asked for suggestions on trails that we should explore, and the name of Kingston Peak came up repeatedly. Which is exactly what led us on this balmy, 42 degree day to over 12,000 feet at the top of Kingston Peak with views in all directions. This is a level four trail, and if you hate large, loose rocks, you will hate this trail. But the views from the top as you drive through the Alpine tundra are priceless. From Kingston Peak, we traveled down the mountain only to travel back up to over 11,000 to enjoy lunch at Loch Lomond, the rumored summer home of a Plesiosaur called Lomie (i.e. Nessie's cousin). But it wasn't just the loch that catches our attention. Colorado is full of waterfalls, but this unnamed falls can be seen for miles.
