In this video I briefly reflect on the legacy of the late Professor Denis McQuail (1935-2017), especially as expressed in the now 7 editions of his seminal McQuail's Mass Communication Theory handbook - the 7th edition of which I had the privilege co-authoring and editing (published in May 2020 by Sage).
This clip was part of the 'Unclosing Plenary' of the 2020 online conference of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), moderated by Professor Kaarle Nordenstreng at Tampere University, Finland.
