On Thursday, September 10 (2020) I was kindly invited by my dear friend Professor Daniela Dimitrova to speak with her graduate students and colleagues about the process of working on the 2020 edition of Denis McQuail's seminal handbook on media and mass communication theory.


This video is an edited summary of that session, also omitting the subsequent lively Q&A session with attendees for privacy reasons. It was fun to discuss the writing process, the lessons I learned while working with the text, how the work and the book affords a rethinking of paradigms on making sense of our contemporary media and communication environment.
