On Wednesday, April 22 (2020), I had the pleasure to present our brand new McQuail's Media and Mass Communication Theory book to the Megatrends & Media conference at The Faculty of Mass Media Communication at the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Slovakia.
In this talk I try to articulate the relevance of studying media and communication in the context of the global pandemic, focusing on how century-old theories of media and society help us understand and explain current debates about the role of (social) media, technologies and practices regarding the coronavirus crisis.
