Fresh from the showcase here at SwissWatchExpo. This morning, we're talking about the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso. Not just any Reverso, this is a very interesting subset of Reversos. But just back up a moment, let's think, do you think of yourself as a sophisticated gentleman, you think of yourself as a Pierce Brosnan, suave kind of guy. This is what I think of when I think of this watch, and it's interesting because when you think about Pierce Brosnan's watches over the years, he wore a Rolex Cellini when he was on television. Then he wore a Cartier Pasha. Then he wore of course, all through the James Bond years, he was dedicated to Omega and the Seamaster. But it's interesting if you look at the Thomas Crown Affair, which was a 1999 movie, it was a remake of one from '69; and in that movie, he just exudes that quiet confidence of the super successful gentleman.

In that movie, he wore a Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso very prominently. They even zoomed in on the watch for a couple of the scenes, and as he's thinking about the time that someone is missing, he's flipping the watch as he's kind of fiddling with it and it shows it. But it's interesting when you zoom in, you can see that the name Jaeger LeCoultre is not on the dial of the watch. It's very clearly a Reverso, but the name's not there because he was under exclusive contract with Omega at the time. So when I think of someone who's wearing a tuxedo, and by the way, interesting under his Bond contract, he couldn't even wear a tuxedo in the Thomas Crown Affair, that's why his bow tie was unbuttoned, his shirt was unbuttoned. He couldn't be seen wearing a full tuxedo, but think about Pierce Brosnan in a tuxedo.

What watch is he wearing? Probably not a Seamaster, it's probably a Reverso. So this watch, you know, the story about the polo players and British India in 1931, they wanted to be able to flip the watch to protect the crystal from some sort of flying ball or mallet. So there's a strong correlation - this really is kind of the first sport watch. If you think about it, that way that it was made for a specific sport and for being protected. Now, we think of it really as a dress watch, but what a dress watch it is, and it's got such a great history. The movements are incredible. Of course, nobody rivals JLC when it comes to movements. They're handmade, they're gorgeous, they sound wonderful. You'll see in one of Creed's videos where he talks about the Polaris and how that movement sounds. It's just an amazing watch, but put yourself in my position.

My wrist might be a little bit smaller than average. I put on the Grande Taille, and this thing is just a big watch. You might think that it doesn't sit right on your wrist. The fact is you can probably pull off a bigger watch than you think you can. Whatever size you think is too big for you, you probably could do it. This one is 42 millimeters wide by 52 millimeters high and the lugs, the way they slope, it just kind of sits up there. So for a lot of people, this isn't for them. I would point you to the subset of the Reverso that is the tribute collection. The tributes are not only a little bit smaller. This one is only 27.4 wide and 45.6 high, and it's a lot thinner. It's only eight and a half millimeters thick and the way the lugs tapered, it just sits very, very nicely on the wrist.

Look at the difference between the two. When you see that from the side, you see how it sits on the wrist versus this one. So the tribute is a lot more akin to the original Reverso watch as it was released in 1931. You still have the beautiful art deco design. This dial is just a delicious blue Sunray effect, and the markers are applied. It has the small seconds hand at six. When you flip it on the reverse side, you see behind it. There's the Sunray pattern of the dial is mirrored in the back of the watch.
