I appear to be having a soapbox moment...

Описание: This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I describe my work. Words like “diversity awareness” or “DEI” can make people react instantly — often calling it “woke” and switching off. But my focus isn’t politics.

In working with very young children, it’s really about showing, through our actions, how to be kind, empathetic, and positive with everyone we meet. In this video, I share why I think helping children develop social and emotional skills — often called “soft skills” — is one of the most important things we can do, and why music is such a powerful way to support this growth.

I also reflect on the irony of being stereotyped while trying to prevent stereotyping in children, and why kindness is far more than just a “moral idea” — it’s a foundation for life.
