ବରଗଡ଼ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ଜମୁର୍ଡା ଗ୍ରାମର ଚାଷୀ ଗଜିନ ମାଝୀଙ୍କୁ ଅସାମାଜିକ ଦୁର୍ବୁତ୍ତମାନେ ବଡ଼ ଝଟକା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି। ଗତକାଲି ରାତିରେ କୌଣସି ଅଜଣା ଦୁର୍ବୁତ୍ତ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ତାଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାୟ ୩୦୦ଟି କରେଲା ଗଛ ଉପାଡି ନଷ୍ଟ କରିଦେଇଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ ହୋଇଛି।
ଗଜିନ ମାଝୀଙ୍କ ନିଜସ୍ୱ ଜମି ନଥିବାରୁ ସେ ଅନ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଜାଙ୍କ ଜମିକୁ ଭାଗରେ ନେଇ ପ୍ରାୟ ୪୦ ଡିସିମିଲ ଜମିରେ କରେଲା ଓ ବନ୍ଧାକୋବି ପରି ପନିପରିବା ଚାଷ କରିଥିଲେ। କିନ୍ତୁ ଗତ ରାତିରେ କୌଣସି ଅସାମାଜିକ ଦୁର୍ବୁତ୍ତ ତାଙ୍କର ୩୦୦ଟି କରେଲା ଗଛ ଉପାଡି ନଷ୍ଟ କରିଦେଇଥିଲେ।
ସକାଳେ ଚାଷ ଜମିକୁ ଯିବା ପରେ କ୍ଷେତର ଏହି ଦୃଶ୍ୟ ଦେଖି ଗଜିନ ମାଝୀ ଦୁଃଖରେ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ପଡ଼ିଥିଲେ। ପରେ ଗାଁଲୋକଙ୍କ ସହଯୋଗରେ ଗ୍ରାମାଞ୍ଚଳ ଥାନାରେ ଏହା ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ଏତେଲା ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ପୋଲିସ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ସନ୍ଧାନୀ କୁକୁର ସହାୟତାରେ ଅପରାଧୀଙ୍କୁ ଚିହ୍ନଟ କରିବାର ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରାଯାଇଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେଥିରେ ସଫଳତା ମିଳିନାହିଁ।
ଏଠାରେ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ ଯେ, ଗତ ଡିସେମ୍ବର ମାସରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହି ଚାଷୀ ସହ ଅନେକ ଚାଷୀଙ୍କ ପନିପରିବା ଚାଷକୁ ଦୁର୍ବୁତ୍ତମାନେ ପାରାକୁଇଟ ଲଟା ମରା ମାରି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନଷ୍ଟ କରିଦେଇଥିଲେ। ସେତେବେଳେ ମଧ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଶାସନ ପକ୍ଷରୁ କୌଣସି ସହାୟତା ମିଳିନଥିଲା ଏବଂ ଦୋଷୀଙ୍କୁ ଧରାଯାଇପାରିନଥିଲା।
ଏହି ଘଟଣା ସମ୍ପର୍କରେ ଜାଣିବା ପରେ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ କୃଷକ ସଂଗଠନର ଉପଦେଷ୍ଟା ରମେଶ ମହାପାତ୍ର ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳକୁ ପହଞ୍ଚି କ୍ଷତିଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଚାଷୀଙ୍କୁ ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଇଥିଲେ। ସେହି ସହିତ ଦୋଷୀଙ୍କ ବିରୋଧରେ ଦୃଷ୍ଟାନ୍ତମୂଳକ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟାନୁଷ୍ଠାନ ଓ କ୍ଷତିଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଚାଷୀଙ୍କୁ ଯଥୋଚିତ ସହାୟତା ଦେବାକୁ ପ୍ରଶାସନଙ୍କୁ ଦାବି କରିଛନ୍ତି।
A shocking incident has been reported from Jamurda village in Bargarh district where miscreants allegedly destroyed around 300 bitter gourd plants belonging to a farmer, causing heavy losses.
The affected farmer, Gajin Majhi, does not own agricultural land and had taken about 40 decimals of land on share to cultivate vegetables like bitter gourd and cabbage. However, unknown miscreants uprooted around 300 bitter gourd plants during the night, ruining his hard-earned crop.
When the farmer visited his field in the morning, he was devastated to see the damaged crop. Later, with the support of villagers, a complaint was lodged at the local rural police station. Police attempted to trace the culprits with the help of a sniffer dog, but no breakthrough has been achieved yet.
It is noteworthy that a similar incident had occurred in December last year when miscreants destroyed vegetable crops of several farmers, including Gajin Majhi, by spraying harmful chemicals. However, no assistance was provided by the administration and the culprits were not arrested.
After learning about the incident, Ramesh Mahapatra, advisor of the United Farmers’ Organization, visited the site and expressed sympathy for the affected farmer. He also demanded strict action against the culprits and proper compensation for the farmer from the administration.
