Millionaire Habit #1: Living below your means.
This is probably obvious, but in our minds it's also the most important, and seems to be the one people have the most difficulty with. Living in a world saturated with advertisements for nice looking cars, watches, jewelry, etc., it's very difficult to get out of the habit of consumerism. But the truth is until you can start spending less money than you earn, you won't be able to save any money to invest for the future and buy things that go up in value.

Two: Investing Money Rather than Spending it.
Once you're living below your means, all the extra money you have can now go toward saving and investing. Buying things that will go up in value and make your net worth go up as a result. Things like stocks, index funds, real estate, maybe other businesses, and tools you can use to make more money.

Three: Pursuing Education over Entertainment.
Not to say that entertainment and fun don't have their places in life. It's important to take breaks and relax every now and then. But millionaires place a heavy emphasis on education. Not entertainment. They read a lot. They go to seminars. They have mentors. Not only do they invest their money, they also invest their time.

Four: Embracing Failure Rather than Fearing it.
Millionaires aren't afraid of taking risks or failing as a result. That's where all the learning takes place. You learn a lot more from failures than successes. Failure also isn't a hinderance to success; it's part of success. In our opinion, people's hesitation towards failure comes from being programmed in school not to fail.

Five: They Keep as Much of their Money as they can.

Six: Surrounding Yourself with the Right People.
You've probably heard the phrase, "you're the average of your five best friends." Or something similar. This is so true. Millionaires are very careful about who they allow to have influence over their lives. They're more likely to surround themselves with other millionaires and successful people than not. That's because they know that other people's mindsets can rub off on theirs.

Seven: Separating Yourself from the Herd.
Average actions get average results. We used to be okay with average. We're not anymore. We want to get extraordinary results. Following the crowd almost never leads to the place you want to go if you want to be successful. You eventually have to start thinking for yourself and get out of your comfort zone.
