This marathon training track workout is called the Yasso 800 workout developed by Runners World Chief Running Officer Bart Yasso. This marathon training session is a very hard track workout that claims to be able to predict your full marathon finish time.
YASSO 800 WORKOUT (8 WEEKS OUT):
20 MINUTE WARM UP
4 X 800m AT TARGET PACE
COOL DOWN & STRETCHING
EVERY WEEK ADD 1 800 METER LAP AND PROGRESS AS FOLLOWS (ALWAYS DO A WARMUP AND COOL DOWN WITH STRETCHING):
7 WEEKS OUT: 5 X 800m AT TARGET PACE
6 WEEKS OUT: 6 X 800m AT TARGET PACE
5 WEEKS OUT: 7 X 800m AT TARGET PACE
4 WEEKS OUT: 8 X 800m AT TARGET PACE
3 WEEKS OUT: 9 X 800m AT TARGET PACE
2 WEEKS OUT: 10 X 800m AT TARGET PACE
