Karpowicz: Fantasia sostenuta, for solo organ

Описание: “Fantasia sostenuta” was composed in 2024 on the grounds of a recorded improvisation from a year earlier. The first public performance took place in December 2024 during “Patchwork VI” new music concert at Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, Poland. The word ”sostenuta” in the title means “sustaining” and it is a reference to asynchronous movement of voices in the piece—some notes move, while others are sustained, creating surprising harmonic effects.
