Gustaw Roguski (1839–1921) is one of the lesser known composers nowadays, I have not heard of him before either. He was Polish pianist, composer and teacher. The most famous of his pupils was Ignacy Jan Paderewski, a piano virtuoso, composer and prime minister of Poland in interwar period. Roguskiʼs compositions include piano and chamber music, as well as at least two collections of preludes for organ. Here is one of them, performed by me!
I had a pleasure to make my very first recoding on the Barnim Grüneberg organ in the st. Peter catholic church in Międzyzdroje (Misdroy), Poland. Grüneberg is believed to be one of the greatest organ builders that ever lived in West Pomerania. Międzyzdroje organ comes from 1914, with case and some parts from earlier instrument built by August Wilhelm Grüneberg, father of Barnim. It is preserved in practically original condition. The detailed specification is as follows:
