For many years the collection of Eight Little Preludes and Fugues used to be attributed to J.S. Bach. However, 20th century musicologists discovered that it was most likely written by Bach’s pupil, Johann Tobias Krebs, or ever his son Johann Ludwig Krebs. Nevertheless it become very popular, it’s pieces appear to be bright and light, but at the same time each of them is a little contrapunctal masterpiece.
