A group of five contestants in the recently concluded parliamentary elections in Kawempe South have vowed to go to court to challenge the victory of Madina Nsereko of the National Resistance Movement (NRM). They claim she was wrongly declared the winner, arguing that declaration forms obtained from several polling stations show Fred Nyanzi in the lead.The five contestants include Fred Nyanzi of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Hassan Ssekungu of the People’s Freedom Front (PFF), Dafala Ssenjako of the Common Man’s Party, and independent candidates Musa Tariq Kyagulanyi and Ismail Muhammad Ssenyonga.They say they will file both civil and criminal cases against individuals allegedly involved in electoral malpractices. The contestants made the remarks while speaking to the media today.
