Metabolic Flexibility: What is the right diet for metabolic flexibility?
Metabolic flexibility is the ability to move between carb burning and fat burning. There is no perfect metabolic flexibility diet- but there are guidelines and meal structuring recommendations that can help though! You do not have to be in ketosis for metaobolic flexibility to happen- in fact, you should not always be in ketosis.
Do you have to follow the ketogenic diet to be metabolically flexible? No, but a low carb high fat diet can help you get there, and then you can practice carb cycling on certain days to improve your metabolic flexibility. Carb cycling for fat loss can be effective when combined with a high fat low carb diet, but everything should be individualized to how you feel and perform best.
