*Without a porter or guide
I and my brother completed the trek in 4 days It is usually done in 5-6 days. We carried our own tents and ration. The trek itinerary didn’t go as planned. Below is our daywise summary:
Day 1: Chilling to Skiu
Day 2: Skiu to Markha
Day 3: Markha to the lake(unnamed) via Hankar and Tachungste
Day 4: Lake to Shang Smardo via Kongmaru la pass and Chokdo
(Day 4 was unusually long and is not recommended for everybody)
We hired a car from Shang Smardo to the highway.
The best : The highlights of the trek for me were Days 3 and 4. The walk alongside Kang Yatse, Nimaling, the ascent to the pass and the lake.
