The human experience derives from the senses—they shape our reality. The most powerful trait of our species is that we can communicate our realities to one another. BOOM—a clap of the hands—we have an analogue describing thunder! Draw out a series of lines on a cave wall and we have visual storytelling. By harnessing technology and the senses, we learned to simulate the world around us—this is the story of virtual reality (VR). In this deep dive into the history of VR, discover the techniques and technologies that brought us the VR we know today. On May 22nd, return to KOSC for Part II to explore the present and future of VR and try out our VR Classroom.

We are excited to offer this program both online and in-person. For those that can visit us on-site, doors open at 7:30pm and the program begins at 8:00pm. If the skies are clear, our domes will be open for you to view the night skies through Kopernik’s telescopes both before and after the program.
