How to learn to stand up from Urdhva Dhanurasana? Learn to go back slowly with strong legs!
I’m showing two exercises to try with a wall.
The first is interesting to feel where our pelvis is in space. The legs will have to stay strong not to fall backwards 😉
The second allows us to go a little lower while maintaining the consciousness of the legs and pelvis as we did in the first exercise.
Listen to the body from the inside out…try to memorize the actions from the inside and then recreate them over and over until they feel natural.
These exercises are great for anyone who finds their drop backs and standing messy and are looking to refine them. However, they can also be amazing for those who never practice drop backs. Even when Urdhva Dhanurasana is still challenging, these can be training the mind/body connection. They can feel great on the back!
However, if they don’t feel good on your back, listen to your body and there are dozens of other ways to arche our spine in yoga!
