In this second chapter, the lone cheesemaker woman pushes through blizzards and biting cold as she begins her day by baking bread in her tiny wooden home. After selling her loaves, she fights through heavy snow to check on her barn—only to find it surrounded by wolves. Two local hunters arrive through the whiteout, driving the predators away and saving her from the deadly cold and the attack.
Back home, her routine becomes a raw portrait of survival: thawing frozen fish, cutting blocks of ice from outside to melt over the stove, bathing in the frigid hut, and enduring the night as the storm intensifies. But danger returns when wolves target her loyal dog, dragging it toward the dark forest. At the last moment, the village baker intervenes, rescuing the dog and sheltering it in his warm shop until morning.
When daylight breaks, he returns the dog safely to its owner—closing a day defined by trust, danger, and the brutal reality of winter.
This episode is told with almost no dialogue—only natural sounds, deep snow, crackling fire, the howl of the wind, and the soft ASMR-like rhythm of daily survival in a frozen world.
