An 8 mile hike from Grasmere in The Lake District to take in stunning mountain scenery , a popular camping location at Easdale Tarn and a stunning waterfall.
Grasmere is a popular village to visit with plenty of coffee shops , cafes and restaurants and places to stay, so this walk is easily accessible from the village. We parked for free just outside the village on the A591 in a lay-by (room for approx 25 cars).
We headed up around Allan Banks to head onto Silver How, great views of the Lake and surrounding mountains and a relatively small hill,,to then head along the ridge to Blea Rigg. Great views into the langdale valley and of the pikes.
We descend to Easdale Tarn, a popular spot, to head down via Sour Milk Gill with a stunning waterfall and ravine.
