If the sentence gives evidence (looks, sounds, seems) → deduction → must
TRAP 3: Past obligation vs past deduction

Why:
must have done = past guess
had to = real past duty
Avoid it
If the sentence includes:

TRAP 4: Missing have in past deduction

Why:Past situation → must have + V3
Avoid it
Look for past clues:
didn’t, yesterday, last night, earlier
TRAP 5: Using can instead of might/could for deduction

Why:Affirmative can is rarely used for deduction.
Avoid it
If the answer choices include might / could, choose them over can.
TRAP 6: Confusing mustn’t and don’t have to
