Rava Kichadi or Sooji Khichdi is one of the most popular breakfast foods in the Southern part of India. It is an easy recipe, but the ratio of rava/sooji and water plays a major role in the process. As indicated in the video, handle the roasted rava/sooji accordingly while mixing with water. This will help to avoid any lumps formation which will affect the overall texture and also the pleasure of enjoying the delicious flavour. Roasting the rava in ghee helps in providing the additional aroma to the dish. This kichadi can also be prepared without using the turmeric powder, but along with those proportions of veggies, the turmeric color just enhances the overall look to be more appetising and go for more.

Ingredients:
1 cup Rava
½ cup Onion (chopped)
½ cup Tomato (chopped)
1 tsp Ginger (chopped)
1 tbsp Green Chili (chopped)
1 sprig Curry Leaves
½ tsp Mustard Seeds
½ tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1 tsp Urad dal
1 tbsp Gram dal
7 Cashew nuts (roughly chopped)
¼ cup Carrot (chopped)
¼ cup Beans (chopped)
¼ cup Peas (chopped)
¼ tsp Asafoetida
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
3.5 cups Water
1 tsp Sugar
2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Ghee
3 tbsp Oil
Good to serve about 4 people.
