Presented by Professor Susanna Scarparo, Pro Vice Chancellor (Student Life) and Victor Zhou (he/him), Project Officer (MySydney) and Student Life Officer from The University of Sydney.
Students with the University of Sydney’s new MySydney scholarship come from low socio-economic backgrounds and have unique challenges that may hinder their success and engagement with the university. Correspondingly, 15 MySydney Scholar Leaders from various Faculties and Schools were hired as casual student-staff to power the core of the MySydney Scholars Student Liaison committee, which aims to co-design inclusive student-centered and led university experiences. This presentation will provide an overview of the hiring and co-design approaches designed by a recently graduated UX design and art history student from an equity background. It will also provide an insight into early outcomes of the project.
