Andrew Scotford, Chief Executive Officer of the CIT Student Association
The CIT Student Association (CITSA)’s mission is to use the power of our partnerships (both on and off campus) to enhance the student experience. We work to prepare students to be active, useful participants in society. We aim to be:
• The student issue experts for CIT students
• The primary touch point for CIT on student issues
To achieve this we have developed a Student Forum that is designed to build off the Learner Engagement Survey (LES) to allow students to provide real time feedback as to how they are receiving their TAFE experience and identify possible solutions if required. During lockdown and since CITSA delivers over 150 class forums each Semester (in person or virtual), primarily within weeks 4 to 6 of the Semester, representing over 2000 students to pulse check their student experience. In addition CITSA, with feedback from CIT staff, built an online survey that is sent to all enrolled students. The outcomes of each in-class forum is provided to the Head of Department with 48 hours. Aggregate results are available to College Directors and CIT Executive. This approach has adapted to support differing student cohorts over time to best understand how to support the student experience in real time.
