We want to get a sense for how the discourse of Australian universities shapes and positions staff and students in the decision-making processes of governance forums. This case study presented a preliminary analysis of publicly available documents and institutional publications typical of Australian universities, through the lenses of public discourse analysis (Scollon, 2008) and membership categorisation analysis (Sacks, 1995). Together, these approaches map out the discourse landscape of university governance forums that (re)position, (re)define and (dis)enable Student Voice.
