Absolutely! In a six-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, men on a strength training program were divided into three groups and supplemented with whey protein alone, whey protein plus creatine monohydrate, or a placebo.
Men that took the whey/creatine combo gained almost 9 pounds of lean muscle. Those men that took just whey protein gained 5 pounds and men that took the placebo only gained about 2 pounds.

According to the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), the most effective way to increase muscle creatine stores is to ingest creatine monohydrate four times per day.
