HEAVENN is testing green hydrogen at 6 different locations through pilot projects across the entire value chain (production, transport, storage and end use) in Noord-Nederland namely Eemshaven, Delfzijl, Zuidwending, Emmen, Hoogeveen and Groningen.
This webinar, held on 26 November 2025, shares key lessons from Hoogeveen’s pioneering demonstration of green hydrogen in the built environment. Kees Boer presents the practical experiences, challenges, and successes of involving residents in transitioning their neighbourhood from natural gas to green hydrogen.
The session explores how public engagement shaped both the technical roll-out and the social acceptance of the Hydrogen District—offering relevant insights for municipalities, practitioners, and energy transition professionals.
Programme:
0:22 - Introduction and HEAVENN overview
3:15 - HEAVENN project and hydrogen valley context
15:21 - Hoogeveen case study and public engagement
38:56 - Q&A with project team and audience
