Thoracic spine mobility is important for maintaining optimal movement patterns. This area of the spine, where the ribs attach, is often restricted in individuals with neck, shoulder and low back injuries. The windmill exercise is a great way to mobilize the thoracic spine in order to improve the quality of your movement, especially when warming up for any overhead or rotational activities.
