We are Duke and Marion, Boomers Without Borders. In this video we are in Italy in mid September, 2022. After visiting Paestum we spent the night at the Iumara Resort in Omignano. The manager, Paolo asked if we would like to visit the owners water buffalo dairy. Water buffalo milk is used to make real Mozzarella cheese. We said yes to a visit.
So the next morning we drove to the farm and the co-owner Milena gave us a tour. We saw where the buffalo are milked and fed. We learned that the manure they produce is used in a biofuel electrical generator which produces all the electricity that the farm needs.
After visiting the farm we drove farther along the Calabrian coast to San Lucido where we spent the night.
