Our Final Days in Spain: Semana Santa, Coastal Beauty & Roman Ruins

Описание: El Saler, Tarragona and Aiguablava. We’re Marion and Duke, and we’ve been exploring Spain and Portugal for nearly seven unforgettable weeks. In this episode, we wrap up the Spanish leg of our journey with coastal stops, Roman ruins, Holy Week traditions, and one of the most breathtaking hotels we’ve ever stayed in.

We begin at the Parador de El Saler, just outside Valencia, where we enjoy paella and stroll a quiet Mediterranean beach—spotting what may be ancient pottery shards.

Next, we head to Tarragona, and it’s Semana Santa (Holy Week). Our local friends take us to a Holy Wednesday procession from the Church of Saint John the Baptist—an unforgettable moment of community, faith, and tradition. We dine together at Casa Balcells and savor the coastal views from our hotel.

Before leaving Tarragona, we visit the incredible Ferreres Aqueduct, a Roman marvel from the 1st century.

Our final stop in Spain is the Parador of Aiguablava on the Costa Brava. With glass walls and sweeping sea views, our room might just be the most beautiful we’ve ever stayed in. We hike the rugged coastline and enjoy a delicious farewell dinner before heading to France.
