This small tree plays an important role as a member of the midstory of our eastern forests in some fun and surprising ways. It is easy to identify year-round and a beloved native landscaping species. Tune in to learn about how those famous flowers are more than meets the eye, and how the tree alters soil chemistry and thereby its ecosystems.
