Описание: Our institute in #Stuttgart has been working on crashworthiness and high-speed impact for over 30 years. Now, #DLR is building a test centre that is unique in Europe: the DLR Center for Crash and Impact Test (CITE), funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg!

The aims of #CITE are to test the behaviour of aircraft or aircraft components at full-scale under crash or high-speed impact, independent of weather conditions, to further improve passive #safety, increase passenger survivability and to support their certification.

In our new video, you’ll get a first glimpse of the innovative test facilities being built for full-scale crash and impact tests and insights into three main areas of CITE:

CITE𝗖𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗛: Testing small aircraft, helicopters and air taxis or large components under realistic crash conditions.
CITE𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧: Testing the impact of artificial birds, hail or drones a.o. on aircraft, helicopters and air taxis.
CITE𝗗𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗟: Central digital platform that integrates datasets from various measurement systems linking them with numerical analysis for efficient correlation.
