An eastbound BNSF mixed freight train climbs Agency Hill on Main 1 east of Ottumwa, Iowa on March 4, 2017. Main 1 is typically reserved for westbound traffic. This train was routed onto this track because of a broken rail on Main 2 near Fairfield. The engineer gives a horn salute right before going under the overpass.
There's quite a surprising sight behind the train's two BNSF locomotives. Two switch engines plus a slug from the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City Railway (or CRandIC, for short) are riding on this train apparently back to their railroad.
There's also two Case IH tractors at 2:54.
Engines and slug:
BNSF 8496 EMD SD70ACe
BNSF 7471 GE ES44DC
CIC 206 RELCO L4-1500XD-M
CIC 205 RELCO L4-1500XD-M
CIC 135 slug
