In a big victory for the LGBT community, the Supreme Court today ruled that consensual sexual relations between adults of the same gender is not a crime in India. In a unanimous judgement by a 5-judge Supreme Court bench, Section 377 which criminalised gay sex, has been struck down and gay sex is now a legal right.
