"Volfeed", 1994.
Volfeed formed in 1992. In 1994, the group released its first mini-album, which was self-titled. The album was a huge success in the underground metal scene and it was then repressed in early 1995 with a different cover. Volfeed would go on to appear on the "Melodical Renaissance" omnibus and the live VHS omnibus "Hush! Special Make It Shine Melodious Hard Rock Battle" throughout 1995, but eventually ended up folding by 1996. Frontwoman Tomoko and drummer Nobuo both immediately went on to join the metal project Blue Stealer, which also dissolved by 1997. After its dissolution, Tomoko retired from the underground metal scene along with Nobuo, although he would return in 2000 as a member of the group Alien 9 Ball under the alias of Nob, with Alien 9 Ball being the first visual group he officially joined. When Alien 9 Ball split in 2003, however, Nob then once again disappeared from the underground music scene in general, before returning again in 2006 to rejoin one of his older groups, Starless, as well as Scheherazade, who reunited for the first time in over a decade. While Starless would dissolve again by 2009, Nob (who by this point was using his original name of Nobuo) remained active in Scheherazade and would also return to the visual scene in 2009 as a member of The Splatters, which he was active in until its dissolution in 2011. He then, once again, remained active as a member of Scheherazade before later joining the metal supergroup Aphrodite and while Scheherazade would end up disintegrating in 2020, Nobuo remains active in Aphrodite today, along with another supergroup, Snoh. In 2010, after over a decade of retirement, Tomoko surprisingly returned to the underground metal scene as the frontwoman for the group Red-rum, which she remains somewhat active in today. The keyboardist of Volfeed, Satomi, went on to join the underground metal group Boiling Blood, although she would later leave the group by 2001. The bassist of Volfeed, Yoshitsugu, went on to join the metal group Moon Struck, which saw him reunite with Satomi, who would join in 2001. In 2003, however, Yoshitsugu left Moon Struck and then retired from the underground metal scene. Satomi, however, remained active in Moon Struck, and also joined the project Crystal Angel, although they would both end up dissolving in 2005. She would then temporarily become a support musician for a few years before eventually retiring from the underground metal scene by 2010. In 2023, Moon Struck would surprisingly reunite for the first time in nearly 2 decades and Satomi would then return as a member, and also simultaneously joined the metal group Black★Star. While Moon Struck has been on mysterious hiatus since 2024, Satomi remains active in Black★Star today.
