Verse 116 addresses a critical misconception:
"They say, 'Allah has taken a son.' Glory be to Him!"

This claim was made by various groups:

Jews who said Uzayr (AS) was the son of God

Christians who considered Prophet Isa (AS) the son of God

Arab idolaters who claimed angels were Allah's daughters

Allah responds with three powerful refutations:

1️⃣ Subhanahu — He is absolutely pure and far above any such need. Having children implies need, and Allah is completely self-sufficient (Al-Samad).

2️⃣ To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth — Everything is His possession. How can the Owner have a son from His own property?

3️⃣ All are devoutly obedient to Him (Qanitun) — Everything in existence submits to His will. A son could potentially disobey, but all creation is completely surrendered.

Verse 117 then reveals Allah's magnificent creative power:
"Originator of the heavens and earth (Badi'us Samawati wal Ard)" — He creates from nothing, without any precedent. When He decrees a matter, He simply says "Be" and it is.

This directly addresses the miracle of Prophet Isa (AS): If Allah can create Adam without parents, creating Isa without a father is no challenge.
