Описание: Following the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, which led to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says he is open to reconciliation — but only if Fubara offers a sincere apology.

Wike said this speaking during a media parley in Abuja on Friday, Wike questioned the sincerity of ongoing peace efforts and stressed the need for genuine dialogue to resolve the impasse.

As Christian faithful across the world mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has reaffirmed his commitment to good governance in the state.

In his Easter message titled “Renewed by the Resurrection: Advancing Peace, Unity, and Good Governance,” Fubara described Easter as a sacred season of reconciliation and unity.

He urged the people of Rivers State to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda while looking forward to a better tomorrow.

Meanwhile, a former chairman of the Port Harcourt branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lawrence Oko-Jaja, has urged the National Assembly to immediately call the Rivers Administrator, Ibok-ete Ibas, to order.

Oko-Jaja argued that there are no sufficient grounds for a state of emergency in Rivers, and warned that the Sole Administrator’s actions are aggravating the alleged illegality, thoroughly breaching relevant sections of the law.

The Itsekiri community has raised alarm over the exercise calling it an injustice, eating they are ready to fight to protect their identity.

In an interview on Arise News, Augustine Oborogbeyi , a Lawyer and Chairman, Ugborodo Community Trust, Escravos and Edward Milverton Omagbemi, a member of Omadino Leaders of Thought stated the community's dominance in the Warri south, insisting they will not back down from this fight.

The Itsekiri nation further condemned the silence of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and raised concerns over the perceived conflict of interest involving the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, an Ijaw man.

They warned the situation could spark another Warri crisis with severe regional and economic consequences.

The community urged President Tinubu to intervene or declare a state of emergency to prevent further violence, stressing they remain ready to defend their land if provoked.
