I spotted this property while driving around the community, and it quickly became clear it was a serious eyesore. The block was huge, with overgrown grass everywhere, walkways completely swallowed, and hedges out front being overtaken by kikuyu grass.

There were leggy, neglected roses throughout the garden, multiple trees that hadn’t been pruned in years, grass pushing through the driveway cracks, and a large juniper hedge needing major attention.

But the worst area was off to the side — piles of dead branches, weeds, dry grass, and an insane amount of kikuyu where it shouldn’t have been. Somehow, an agapanthus was still hanging on in the middle of it all. The walkway was filthy and even blocked by some old car doors.

No one answered when I knocked, and the neighbours told me that the place had been left like this for many years, with one saying they’d never seen anyone living here in 18 years!

I would’ve loved to do the backyard too, but both gates were padlocked shut.

Still, the transformation is honestly hard to believe, and the place is almost unrecognisable now.
