Welcome to Neuroscience for Musicians. This is a series of live online presentations given at the Johns Hopkins Center for Music and Medicine, that seeks to provide musicians with a deeper, neurologically based understanding of music. In this introductory video we lay out the roadmap and final destination of the series - it will take us through the basics of sound all the way up to freestyle and improvisation. We review the basic of neuroscience and also take a look at fMRI, the main tool we will use to examine music processing in the brain.
