BALING MINGAWA "Dark Circus" (Musesound Revamp)

This piece was one of the "soundtracks" written for a community theatre play-with-music show "Baling Mingawa." It's a political satire mixed with intense emotions and anguish, offset by tinges of humor, and sheer satire. I did my best to portray such a tone in the music, where its passive-aggressively joking around with its references, and circus-like style to offset and mask the sheer anger and anguish festering within. I had a ton of fun with this piece, and it was the best opportunity to really show what I can do to the public audience--hoping to make good first impressions along the way. Apart from that, it was a milestone in my development as a composer, as I get to bridge my emotions, and some vague sense of storytelling, to the music. Compared to "A minor Apology," this was surely something else.

I had a ton of fun writing this piece and had a ton of fun working in that production not just as a composer, but also as a sound designer, and assistant stage manager. What was even more fun was opening the old Musescore file, do some playback tweaks and some really minor instrumentation adjustments, load in Musesounds, and let the piece play in a higher definition. This piece, which was originally rendered using MS General HQ (MS Basic) is now playing almost entirely with Musesounds.
