Hey Backyard Bowyers! Just wanted to show you this bow, it's a 1" schedule 40 pipe bow with 6 inch maple siyahs. It's 60 inches long, (57" with the bends) and pulls 45 pounds at 28 inches. It also has 9 inches of reflex and is one of my faster PVC pipe bows, one of the fastest with the main body of the bow being all PVC.
This is one of my favorites, though it needed to be repaired once so I had to strip the cloth covering I had on it previously. It's under so much strain that it actually collapsed on me. One of the great things about PVC pipe is that as long as you don't burn or melt it, it can collapse and be re-formed to be as good as new.
It's a fast shooter and the shorter working limbs make it an unusually smooth shooter. Pulls all the way to 32 inches without stacking and actually feels lighter at full draw than mid-draw. This bow performs as well as my laminated wood and fiberglass Shakespeare Kaibab, also 45 pounds. They both shoot around 170 fps with a 435 gr. arrow and Dacron strings. I may have to try this bow out with some fast flight.
Thanks for watching!
