Today, in observance of National Nothing Day, I kept things simple.
A quick, no-frills shave with Seaforth Black Watch and an early Gillette Aristocrat (1946–1947). Two easy passes were all this razor needed — smooth, efficient, and done without any hurry.
Not every shave needs a lesson or a timeline. Some days are just about good tools, a familiar routine, and getting on with the day.
Thanks for watching, and enjoy your shave.

January 16 - National Day Calendar
National Nothing Day is an unofficial holiday celebrated annually on January 16th, created as a "non-event" for people to simply do nothing, honoring the idea of having a day without obligations or celebrations. Proposed by journalist Harold Pullman Coffin in 1972, the day encourages rest, quiet reflection, or simply existing without any specific agenda, offering a break from the busy holiday season.
How to Observe
Do nothing: The core idea is to refrain from celebrating or observing anything.
Say nothing: Take a vow of silence or just avoid talking.
Think about nothing: Engage in quiet contemplation or just let your mind wander.
Embrace procrastination: Enjoy a guilt-free day of putting things off.
Philosophize: Consider the concept of "nothingness" in science or philosophy.
Origin: Created by Harold Pullman Coffin in 1972.
Purpose: To provide a day for Americans to simply sit, without honoring or celebrating anything.
Unofficial: It's a cultural "un-event" rather than a formal holiday.
