Iran's foreign minister said it has not asked for a ceasefire or negotiations, describing the claim as "delusional.” Donald Trump has declared that the US has, in his words, "essentially defeated Iran." That followed remarks by his Energy Secretary who said the war with Iran was expected to end in a matter of weeks, and the disruption to global energy supplies would only be "short term."
