Donald Trump declared that Iran has been "literally obliterated" and all its mine laying ships destroyed, at least to the best of his knowledge.

But what started as an American war of choice has quickly become a campaign of necessity over a narrow strip of water that holds the keys to the world economy.
Trump is now calling upon western allies to help him clear the Strait of Hormuz and unblock the flow of oil, warning that Nato might face a “very bad future” if they don't.
Some allies are helping reluctantly but Trump reserved particular ire for UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, attacking him again and again for the delay in deploying ships.
Meanwhile, Iran continued to fire missiles at its neighbours, with Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and Israel all being attacked in the last 24 hours.
And in Lebanon, Israel has started “limited and targeted ground operations” as its attacks in the country have left almost 900 people dead, including over 100 children.
